the Project

Localstack is a fully functional local cloud service emulator where developers can build, test, profile and debug infrastructure. As their solution has advanced to another level, Localstack was looking for a fresh new look which properly represents their identity, and helps in building brand awareness around their solution.

The
challenge

Complex ecosystem: As Localstack has become a significant and unique solution amongst cloud service providers, they needed to provide more information for their existing and future users. However, their services and offers were quite complex, and they needed to find a new design that is dynamic, fresh and modern on the one hand, but on the other hand is able to demonstrate the operation of their testing framework.

 

Vibrant community: One of the core values of Localstack is their active community; their contributors are active on several external channels. As they are valuable assets to them, it was very important to present these channels and the workflow of contribution as clearly as possible on the website, to make contribution easy.

discovery

Discovery: In order to assess the expectations and requirements regarding the new brand, we first conducted a brand personality workshop, where we understood their ideas about their new identity.

Logo and image: In order to find the best solutions for the implementation of our ideas, we conducted thorough research.

UX and wireframe: In order to design the new website and find the best user journeys, we organized product discovery sessions, and created the information architecture to identify, define and organize the content and structure of their website, keeping in mind future scalability as well.

Result

The result of this project is a dynamic and fresh logo and brand identity for Localstack, along with a web design that features a comprehensive design system. This system is not only transparent and easy to implement but also scalable, allowing for future growth and adaptation. Additionally, the design enhances Localstack’s brand identity, making it more recognizable while supporting their evolving business needs.
